‘Franquettes’ is a very special place. We feel very privileged to be among the first group of painting guests to stay here. Rhonda has benefited greatly from her painting class and was able to learn many new techniques in the relaxed atmosphere. Richard and sally……you have a wonderful family. Your boys are a credit to you both. Many thanks Tom for your excellent catering with unforgettable food and hospitality—a real French experience. Sally it was a very special treat to be entertained with your incredible ability and commitment on the piano. Finally, thank you ever so much for having us stay on-it really has been like a home away from home. We wish you every success with ‘Painting–France’.

Richard & Sally,

Thank you so very much for an amazing week, filled with Art, Music and Fine Food! I’m quite spoiled now and will certainly require more attention at home. Your sons are so handsome and helpful. I will remember you all Keep up the great work at ‘Franquettes’ It’s a beautiful home away from home. And Richard, thank you for your patience and expertise—and your passion for music.

Always,

Christine Owens from Idaho ( not Iowa ) USA.

We’ve had a wonderful time at ‘Franquettes’, Richard and Sally and the boys have made us so welcome we genuinely have felt part of the family. We have never been so well fed either-Tom ‘s cooking is truly excellent, particularly the cheese cake! Amanda had no experience of art prior to this week, but under Richards tutelage we have both made a painting which we are more than happy to take home. We have both learned a lot, relax a lot, had stimulating conversation and eaten way too much! Thank you for a lovely holiday.

For the Harby  Clan

A Painting Holiday at ‘Franquettes’ is a home from home. I have had the most amazing week and am taking hpme a treasure trove of memories, along with my first painting on canvas.

Wonderful food ,wine, the most generous-spirited of hosts—I was fortunate to find the most lovely, lively and humorous company in Andrew and David.

Sally –your piano playing and sharp wit are noted.—Richard –you noticed my cheating in painting class but your patience is admirable-others have given up!

Tom –you are just lovely , a talented cook, I can’t fit in my skinny jeans for my journey home.

My husband Barry believes that a happy wife is a quiet life and he will certainly see a more relaxed wife at Gatwick this evening.

I know I will see you soon .

Much much love

Dear Sally ‘Richard and Tom,

We would both like to thank you for a simply wonderful holiday—We arrived with intrepidation , as we had both not painted since leaving college over 15 years ago.  However our fears were mislaid, as  under the patient care and understanding of Richard we managed to each produce a competent painting-although we are rather biased on this!

The painting  holiday was a joy on all levels, for which we will always be grateful to Richard.. We have however no words to express the kindness of Sally and Tom who made our stay at ‘Franquettes” something akin to Magic. ‘Franquettes” will always be close to our hearts. And thanks to the painting coarse we have a wonderful momento to take home with us.

Much love and thoughts to Richard, Sally, Tom, Joe & Rex
